Here at Hooniverse Central we seem to go crazy for certain types of old vehicles… Station Wagons are a given, as is old Porsche’s, Vintage Honda’s, Post Modern Jaguar’s, and Vintage Utility Vehicles. Well, we also seem to go crazy over the Jeep line of Forward Control Trucks, like this spectacular 1962 model that is currently running on eBay. This one is very original (except for the new Stake Bed Body) and has covered only a little over 16,000 Miles!!!
I am going to let the listing speak ford itself this time…
This auction is for a 1962 Willy’s Forward Control Jeep FC-170. It has 16,299 original miles. Paint is original. I am the 3rd owner. My uncle purchased this from a fire dept. and then sold it to me. I had it in storage for 20+ before taking it out for light restoration. Originally, I was going to do a complete restoration but I only restored what needed to be done and left as much original as I could. You can restore vehicles over and over but they are only original once. I wanted to maintain originality of the vehicle. This is a show piece that receives many complements! This truck gets looks!!
This vehicle has original seats and door panels. Refinished dash board and sun visors. New headliner. Heater box was restored with new decals. Brakes have been completely redone- master cylinder and wheel cylinders etc. Small rust spots repaired in floor. 3 Speed manual transmission. It runs and drives like new. Doors close like new. Current MA inspection sticker. New glass wiper strips and window fuzzes and tracks. The engine is an original flathead 6 cyl. The red cab paint is 95% original. Included is a Ramsey winch. Posi traction front and rear axles. NOS tires.
Passenger side door glass is cracked. I have extra glass (that is fogged) for a pattern. I also have a very rough parts truck with fisher plow frame. The bed is a stake body that was fabricated to factory dimensions from dealer brochures. Made from cherry wood with chrome plated stainless steel hardware. One of a kind! I have pictures from when this vehicle was new, as well as service manual, parts list, owner’s service policy, sales brochures. Please check pictures and email with questions. Vehicle is available for inspection.
This wonderful jeep currently has a little over seven days left until the auction ends, and the top bid so far (as of this writing) is $6,100 with an unmet reserve. Anything can happen within the next seven days, but what do you think it will take to pronounce this Forward Control Jeep sold. See the eBay listing, and tell me what you think… [sc:ebay itemid=”301218238694″ linktext=”1962 Forward Control Jeep FC-170 ” ]
