The 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy is what happens when Hyundai decides to see how much car they can fit into one price point. The answer is…quite a lot. We’ve been testing the flagship trim of Hyundai’s flagship three-row SUV, which now gets a hybrid powertrain that finally gives the Palisade the performance to match its premium aspirations. Step in and you’re met with Nappa leather, relaxation seating, and a feature called UV-C sterilization, which is either a sign of the times or a preview of them, depending on how you look at it. Let’s see what’s what.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid: Overview
The 2026 Palisade lineup spans seventeen trims across two powertrains, which is a lot to process, so here is the relevant breakdown. All hybrid trims share the same 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid system producing 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard; AWD is available on all hybrid trims. Since we’re driving the Hybrid, we’ll break down the trim levels for you.

Hybrid Blue SEL — $43,660.
The hybrid entry point. Eight-passenger seating, 329 horsepower, premium synthetic upholstery, and all the standard Hyundai SmartSense safety tech bits. It’s a solid starting point for families who want the powertrain upgrade without climbing the full price ladder.
Hybrid SEL Premium — $47,020.
Steps up with a Harman Kardon audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a surround-view camera, and power-adjustable second-row seats. The sweet spot for buyers who want a well-equipped hybrid without the flagship pricing.
Hybrid Limited — $51,490.
Adds Nappa leather, a head-up display, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a relaxation mode for the second-row seats, and a digital rearview mirror. Delivers some solid luxury for a pretty reasonable price.
Hybrid Calligraphy — $56,280 FWD / $58,280 AWD.
The range-topper and the car we’re driving here. Adds 21-inch wheels, an illuminated grille, an integrated dual-camera dashcam, dynamic welcome lighting, a deluxe sliding center console, and the UV-C air sterilization system. Seven-passenger captain’s chair seating is standard. Massaging front seats and the full Hyundai Digital Key system round out the package. At just under $60,000 for AWD, this is Hyundai’s most fully-loaded Palisade.

Let’s see how it copes with the daily commute and youth hockey practice!
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy: Inside & Out
Sitting down in the Palisade Hybrid, the interior feels immediately familiar if you’ve spent time in the IONIQ 9. Which I have, recently! The interior design language is the same, which makes sense since both share Hyundai’s latest platform and interior architecture. The curved widescreen display, the touch-sensitive button panel along the dash, the overall sense of considered space. If you liked the IONIQ 9’s cabin, you’ll like this one too. The materials are a step above what you expect at this price. Nappa leather, varied textures, solid surface quality throughout. It looks expensive in a quiet way rather than a flashy one.
The screen is large and angled slightly toward the driver, which helps it feel integrated rather than tacked on. The distance from the seat to the touchscreen is notable, though. Even with reasonably long arms, reaching the far end of the display requires leaning forward. Something to know if you use the full screen width regularly and maybe have shorter limbs.
There is a volume knob. Woot! Getting CarPlay up and running takes a couple of extra steps compared to some other press cars. The system asks you to agree to terms and press start before it loads the main menu, and then you still need to tap the CarPlay button. Clunky on the first launch, perhaps less so once you know the sequence.
The wireless charging pad has a bright orange indicator light that confirms charging without having to look twice. If your phone runs hot in the charger, there is a dedicated slot right in front of the pad where the phone can rest upright and stay visible without charging. My iPhone 17 Pro Max sits a little high in that slot and tends to slide off slightly, but the idea is right.
Storage is plentiful. The center console is fixed rather than sliding, like on the IONIQ 9, but there is plenty of space. Multiple USB-C ports are accessible front and rear. The door armrest and center console armrest sit at exactly the same height, which sounds like a detail until you’ve spent an hour in the car and realized your arm hasn’t moved. There’s also just the right amount of padding under the leather.
The UV-C air sterilization system cleans the cabin air using ultraviolet light. It is listed as a feature you activate rather than something that runs continuously, which raises the reasonable question of why you wouldn’t just leave it on. The answer is probably that Hyundai wants buyers to know it’s there.
Step-in height is great for taller drivers. Not too high, not too low. Getting in and out with a bag or kids in tow is easy, which matters more in a three-row SUV than the spec sheet suggests.
Second and third row: the captain’s chairs in the second row are genuinely comfortable and offer decent recline. The third row on a wheelbase this size is better than most.

Cargo behind the third row is 19.1 cubic feet, which is on the modest side for a vehicle this large but functional for everyday use. Of note, we got the hockey bag easily into the rear cargo area. The stick was partially up into the 3rd row though.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy: On the Road
The hybrid powertrain is the nice upgrade over the gas Palisade, and it shows. With 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque from the turbocharged four-cylinder, power arrives early and makes the Palisade feel considerably more willing than its predecessor. Zero to 60 comes in around 6.2 seconds, which Edmunds calls considerably quicker than the V6 gas version. It does not feel like a sports car. It feels like a very confident SUV, which is the right idea.
Sport mode is an interesting choice in a vehicle primarily designed to carry a family in comfort. The engine note firms up and the throttle response sharpens, which is entertaining for about thirty seconds, before the passenger in the second row, with the relaxation seat reclined all the way back, gives you a look. Combined fuel economy comes in at an EPA-estimated 31 mpg, and with the hybrid system’s range, the Palisade can cover over 600 miles on a full tank. That is a massively useful number for road trips.
The keyless door handle entry is a little slow to register. You reach into the handle, wait a beat, and the door unlocks. On a normal day, this is not noticeable. In the rain, it is. One morning, it did not lock on the first attempt, so pulling out the key fob to confirm it had closed was necessary. The sensors on these systems occasionally have bad days, it seems.
Ride quality is composed and comfortable, consistent with what the Palisade has always done well. The hybrid’s lower center of gravity from the battery placement helps with stability through corners without changing the vehicle’s fundamentally relaxed character.
Summary
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy comes in at $58,280 with AWD and is a well-executed premium three-row that makes a strong case for itself against the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid and the Kia Telluride Hybrid at similar prices. It has more horsepower than both, a longer warranty than the Toyota, and an interior that feels like it should cost more than it does.
The hybrid powertrain fixes the one thing the previous Palisade got consistently knocked for. The Calligraphy trim adds enough genuine comfort and convenience features to justify the flagship pricing. And if you want clean cabin air, there’s a button for that too.
