Funny that you'd pick Tanshanomi's article as a starting point, as the original Stormchasers started with my reply to one of his comments. You know, Dearthair asked us near the end of Stormchasers if we would do something like that here, and we all agreed, and everybody signed up here, but I think they are concerned about overloading the system or something. So, you better get the okay from the powers that be before we start something. I don't see how it's going to work with everybody replying to BB. I'm game for anything, but I think we need approval. Also, for some reason, I don't always get an email from here when somebody replies to my comment.

I got the okay from Dearthair and I emailed Tim as well, hopefully I will hear back from him tomorrow with another okay. And yes I picked a comment by BB in a post by Tanshanomi deliberately. I'll go and add just one more integer so people know to reply tot the top-most comment up there by BB. Also when I replied I selected "Subscribe to All new comments" in the drop-down list, and it worked! That's the reason I also picked a months old post.

I browse by "Last Activity" by clicking on that text link I pointing the arrow too. Then all of our chasing ends-up right on top, and the last number is also right on top.
I think we should reply to BB for the first 50, then switch over to some other post and top-level comment by one of the chasers to reply to. There are a few reasons for this. One, everything lines-up nicely. Two, everybody can edit as long as no one gets replied to in the meantime (how I could fix my poor counting if I cared enough, and may later). Third, once a post goes over 100 comments, then you have to click on the doodad to expand all the replies, yuck.

Anyway about missing comments here. If it ever happens to one you made, just reply with ">poof!<" to BB like I did. It has 50/50 shot of bringing it back. I always copy what I am about to comment into the clipboard before I click on "Submit comment" here after I made a really funny long great one to Alff a few days ago and it went missing 🙁 That way I can paste it right back. Also you you got an email notification from engineerd, go ahead and just copy and paste that right in from him. People do that here to show Lucas who's boss. (Hoonibles Lucas prince of devnull is his full name here.)

Maybe I had better put this one behind a click, but indeed some days start off better than others! Also thanks for the name suggestion a while back.
About the redesign over there. It's unfortunate, but even when it will work 'right' it will not work for me. See my wife and kids use the good computer. I get the almost 9 year old eMac and the netbook. They have made it faster than it was, but it is just so painfully slow even when everything is working over at jalop. I see how it is supposed to be in the iMac, it's bearab;e then assuming all the bugs get worked-out in terms of speed, but they added a feature that messes me up all the time, scroll wheel and keyboard navigation. So if I press an arrow key, pgup/pgdn, j, or k sometimes it automatically takes me to some random other post! Here's the worst part on my netbook I have the right half of the track pad do scrolling, on the iMac if I touch the mouse wrong it scrolls, and the keyboard I use on the eMac is for a PS2 where I cannot disable the trackpad scroll. That errant touch always get me to some other random post. Then it is at least 5 clicks to get back to where I was before, each step taking tens of seconds. Think about that, a dragster in the 12s is faster than a web blog for me.

This is a continuation of a #stormchaser5000 tag that got screwed up at J. with their format change. zsm got permission from the Hooniverse bosses here for us to carry on here, but I'm not sure if it's going to work out or not. Banned, eh? Took long enough. I complained to Mr. Wert about that guy's repeated ethnic slurs and general filth several months ago and got a personal reply that he'd look into it. The result? Nothing, not even a de-starring (though I understand he was de-starred for unrelated reasons a few months later). That experience was the final straw that precipitated my departure as a commenter over there. If Gawker wants to make such a fuss about approving their commenters, then that also entails full responsibility for their decisions not to revoke that approval. I can only infer they weren't particularly bothered by the content of his earlier posts, which in turn meant I wanted nothing to do with that organization.
Not that I'm bitter about it, mind you.

We utilize a very sophisticated PM system that allows you to receive the messages even when you're not on Hooniverse, and possibly through other programs, even wireless devices. It's pretty sophisticated, and has had widespread adoption.
We're calling it "E-Mail". It's gonna be huge!

I know what Bobo said, something about you being wonderful and special. Seriously now, it's not worth it for you to fret about. I did not see any of it. We don't ever really know about why other people behave the way that they do. There were certain things that set him off pretty predictably and I hope there was not a truly unfortunate reason for that in his life. I wish him the best, there was a time long ago when he made me laugh and some nostalgic comments by him as well that I will miss.
