I attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few weekends ago. There were lots of amazing cars, but this Galaxie has stuck in my brain. The driver was pushing it hard up the hill and it sounded amazing. It also looked perfectly out of place, which made me love it even more.
Quick Pic: In a Galaxie far, far away…

Thank you for not spelling it Galaxy. Seriously, the only thing more aggravating on CL is the mention of the almighty BMW V6…

Well, Jeff was in Great Britain at the time….

I love learning about cars that were/are not sold in Canada, and although I’ve never heard of it before, the Ford Galaxy is now my favourite minivan, based on looks alone.

Admittedly, I have never attended Goodwood, but I fail to see how anyone might think this car looks out of place.

Maybe in terms of fitting on the road? It is very narrow

I understand that – I was a kid that thought he knew a lot about cars. A ton of books, yearly catalogues of “all cars sold in the world” (huge treasure to me) and youthful hubris combined made meeting the infant internet quite humbling. I know there’s a lot of interesting, challenging, and even reliable, tractor-y stuff out there; to my taste. Yet I keep circling back to Volvos. They’re familiar, they’re boxy, they’re good. Even the unboxy ones…

There are some great videos on youtube with these Galaxies racing Falcons in 1963 or so in UK.
The Mighty vs The Nimble, great to watch.-
Came here just to mention that, go to Goodwoods youtube channel (which disqus seems to have embedded rather than just link) and check out the members meeting or revival races, there is no sight better than a 7 litre Galaxie playing cat and mouse with an original Mini or even a Lotus Cortina, just like they would have in BTCC in period. You just don’t get that sort of mix on a circuit in a modern series.
