The Hyundai Ioniq 5 sure is pretty looking. But, gosh darn, it sure as hell reminds me of something.
This does make sense though, as the Ioniq 5 designers started out shaping this thing with the 45 Concept Car. That vehicle took inspiration from Hyundai’s old Pony concept car shown back in the 1970s. Who designed the Pony? Giorgetto Giugiaro. Who designed the Lancia Delta? Giorgetto Giugiaro.

That was my first impression, too. It’s certainly not a bad design to emulate. I just wish it didn’t look like it had sideswiped a trailer ramp.
Oh hell, I just noticed the fender trim. That’s heinous. I thought the side crease was bad, but now I can’t un-see the creases around the wheel wells. This is so very close to a fantastic design, but gimmicky crap like that is all it takes to ruin it.
Great catch Kamil, I also struggled to guess what car it reminds me of until I found this. I see also a little bit of Volkswagen Corrado in it.
