PaddockScene is where all car events converge

There is a Formula1 race on Sunday. Wednesday is a test-n-tune night at Englishtown. A local cruise night is a fun way of checking out some hot rods. There is a 24 Hours of LeMons race coming to a track near you, but when? Heard of the Susquehannock Trail Rally? Perhaps you want to autocross your hooptie? Cars and Coffee always attracts some cool cars… but how do you know about all of these events?

There are car events going all time, all around you, but it has never been easy to find the information on them. Where? What time? Heck, since Formula1 moved to some other channel this season, I have seen only one race!

Michael Briskie, a friend (he’s written from my other site years ago) and a car guy just like you and I, decided to do something about this lack of information. In early June he will be launching a website called PaddockScene.com which is devoted to all car events, big and small, around the country. Plug in your zip code and the site will let you know what’s happening. Want to share pictures from yesterday’s show? Upload them to the gallery. Traveling? See what’s happening at your destination.

These are the early screenshots from the upcoming website. Michael has finalized the design and the site is currently undergoing testing. He has committed everything he had to PaddockScene; money, time, he even quit his job at a large car manufacturer. He has a great business plan, knows the industry really well, and is certain of its success.

When I met up with Michael at the Hooniverse NYIAS party, and subsequently for one more round of drinks, he sold me on the idea. There will be a lot more to this site than what I described here, and he had a firm answer to everything single question I had for him, which I found quite surprising. He is motivated and confident, and he has put a lot on line for this website.

While he is not looking for partners, Michael recently started a Indiegogo campaign in order to relieve some of the stress on his wallet. Now, we have recently seen a ton of annoying crowd-sponsored-wanna-be automotive projects come to be, which we would never list on Hooniverse, but this is different. Jeff and I really like Michael’s idea and we think that in the end it will provide a great service to the car enthusiast community. He’s got a product, a service, a path forward, and a ton of his time and money invested into this, whereas others are asking people to sponsor their vacation.

Check out the below video. If you’re still reading this, Micheal’s Indiegogo page has a lot more detail.

PaddockScene.com Gives You A Place To Track Your Favorite Races and Events

PaddockScene is an independent event guide for automotive addicts. Hunting and pecking through dozens of websites looking for races, track events, shows, and cruises is over. Instead, PaddockScene let’s you keep track of events that are specific to your interests and also those that are close to home. Think broadly about the vast landscape of motor-powered activities and the last time you missed a great event because you never heard about it. Quite simply, PaddockScene is going to keep you in the know about the events you want to know about.

We are in an age when community engagement is instant. In racing, drivers, teams, and fans are doing their part, taking Twitter by storm to discuss races and get behind-the-scenes updates in real time. Social platforms lend themselves exceptionally well to the massive grassroots automotive community (see any forum as exhibit “A”). But advancements in data aggregation, user generated content, and content management platforms have primed enthusiasts for an inclusive community of motorsport fans that allows anyone to become involved quickly and easily. That’s why PaddockScene allows users to add events to the already substantial event listings available at launch.

PaddockScene takes advantage of an opportunity to use technology to form a more cohesive community of automotive and motorsport enthusiasts that reflects each individual’s unique preferences. PaddockScene welcomes every interest from national Pro racing of all varieties to local Cars & Coffee, and spans the entire United States.

Check out the launch campaign at www.indiegogo.com/projects/paddockscene and donate to keep the June LIVE date on schedule. Here is a sneek peak at what PaddockScene will offer.

Finally! If this works, it will be excellent! As it is, I'm kind of happy I only have to monitor 12 sites now. If this can get it down to one or two..we will have reached (well, close to it) Nirvana!
