Last Call- Take a Trip on the RTA Edition

70rtsad Man, Plymouth sure did embrace the psychedelic freakout in its advertising back in the late ’60s and early ’70s. This print ad for the 1969 Hemi ‘Cuda shows the car in an exaggerated animated form with the hood scoop turned into an anamorphic nose and the lights to ray guns, possibly vaporizing pretenders in its path. This was just one of the crazy ads that hawked Plymouth’s Rapid Transit System cars during the Nixon era. Some of the others were even more out there, with R. Crumb style drawings and even more drug-haze caricatures. These trippy ads kind of make you wish Plymouth was still around today.

Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.
