Bruce McCall is a Canadian illustrator whose work has been most frequently featured in the New Yorker magazine. McCall specializes in a subject that he calls faux nostalgia, or a make believe future-past. This is an example of his work from 1985, a car of the faux future where everyone is plugged in and online – with the notable exception of the cat – in their own little worlds. It may be fantasy, but there’s a lot of truth to the concept. Seriously though, who wouldn’t want their car to give them a Hiway Haircut? Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged. Image: Blankspace BLOG
