Hooniverse Weekend Edition: The Crazy World of Ebay Other Makes

Yes I have been dumpster diving again into the world of “Other Makes” on the Ebay Motors Site. This is where all the unclassified vehicles end up including Hudson, Kaiser, Beaumont, International, Essex, and others. I have nine juicy morsels for you to feast upon. You may find them repulsive, or maybe you have the scratch to purchase one, so why not take a journey to the dark side of the Ebay world.

Let’s start with a 1986 Pontiac GT Concept Car, which looks like it was created using everyone’s favorite canvas, the Fiero. According to the seller:

This car has no official name because as it’s name reflects it is a concept car, a future Pontiac that never went into production. There were only 12 of these cars made. They are all hand made and assembled. There are ONLY three known to remain in the United States. Because of its extremely limited production the car is not kwon to the public, thus, it always attracts a crowd of curious car lovers.

Um yea, that’s the ticket. As of this posting, there is less than an hour left to bid, and the reserve hasn’t been met (The current bid is $7,100!). See this listing here!

The second car is a super rare 1969 Intermeccanica Murena GT. This is a very rough project car, but there were only 11 made. According to the seller:

Here we have one of the eleven Intermeccanica Murenas ever built. This is a nice project, missing transmission and carburetor. Has rust on the passenger side door. Matching numbers. There isn’t much to say about this car. If you are looking at this then you are connoisseur of exotic sport cars. I’m selling the car for my friend, you can reach him at XXX-XXX-XXXX or email me at XXXXXXXXXXXXX@yahoo.com.

Hmmmm, sounds like a LeMons Project right there, with a lot of bribe money. Check out the listing here!

It has every concievable over the top feature including a bullet grill (Made of actual bullets!), a helmet aircleaner, Army Canteen cupholder, and a lot more. Take a look at the listing Here!

This next car should be filed under “There is no such thing as too much power!”. It’s a twin-engined 1946 Chevy Rod, and, well, uh, I’m speechless. Read what the seller has to say:

So you want to own a Batmobile. It seems that there are different cars for different time periods. This one offered is not based on the TV Version of the Batmobile, nor is it the latest iteration of the Batmobile, rather it’s the one made famous by Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and Kim Basinger. The listing says it’s the best 1989 Batmobile replica out there. For $165,000 it should be the original. Go here for the listing.

To close out this segment of Ebay Oddities, here is a brand new Lola T70 John Surtees 50th Anniversary Edition. At present, the asking price is $650,000, which is a lot of scratch for a replica. But just look at it. You might want to sell your kidney just to ride in the thing. Read the entire listing Here!
