Bond, James Bond, has over the years driven a multitude of cars, fancy cars. Not only that, but the 007 movies – from Dr. No to Skyfall – have additionally featured a slew of cars driven by those not lucky enough to be James Bond. The Bond Franchise is in fact, a veritable used car lot full of many of our favorites. But which one’s the coolest and hence the best?
There’ll be a little more about Mr. Bond and his archetype architect a little later this morning, but right now we’re focused, not on the spy himself, but by all the iron on display in his 24 film outings. Considering that they have included everything from the iconic Aston Martin to a flying AMC hornet and a submersible Lotus Esprit, which Bond car do you think should most appropriately be licensed to thrill?

Espritmarine. Lets hope Elon can make it work.
This was the first Bond movie that I saw. I was an impressionable youth at the time. The Lotus submarine will forever, to me, be the Bond car.
Yep – Done in one here..

Added bonus
I quite like the other Lotus that turned up later in ‘For Your Eyes Only’ from back when Lotuses were supercars and Roger Moore was youngish.

Ok, so I’m not following the rules because it’s not a car, but my vote is still going to the Glastron GT150 that James commandeered in Live and Let Die. I don’t care how ridiculous it was, it’s still my all-time favorite movie chase evah!

I know it is a European Mustang. I don’t care. I love the V8 Vantage from The Living Daylights.
::whispers::
I think the V8 Vantage looks better than the older DBs.
SHH! Don’t tell anyone — I’ll be crucified!
You have an ally. (shh… it’s me)
And me…
Correct answer. Actually my favourite Bond film, too.
AMC Hornet

As stated above, I love the Vantage most of all the Bond Astons, but I have to admit it though, when he opened the storage door for this scene, the hair on my body went a little tingly…
There was actually applause in the theater when I saw it, the DB5 got the biggest reaction out of anything in the movie.
same here,
found another image of that DB5…..
When did Kenny Rogers shave his beard?
Because it was the best part of the movie.
You answered my answer. Well done.
The low hanging fruits (Esprit & DB5) are taken, so I’m going with the convertible 2000GT from You Only Live Twice. Fun fact: Sean Connery couldn’t fit in the normal 2000GT coupe, so Toyota cut off the roof and made this open top version in just 2 weeks to ensure the car makes it into the movie

For the longest time the rumor was that Connery was short and was photographed to look tall and wore “lifts” in his shoes. Now, thanks to the Interwebs, I find that he’s my height (6’2″), so I wouldn’t fit in a 2000GT either. Not to worry, I couldn’t afford one any way.
This was my first thought too.
SPOILER ALERT. This will be his next car…

I believe that’s going to be a villain’s car, since they’ve basically confirmed that Bond will be in this:

For us ” vintage only ” cave dwellers…. What is that ?
( too lazy to look it up )
Aston DB10 it’s called, I think it’s specifically designed for the movie.
If they don’t make Jamesh Bondsh’s car for sale to the public, they are utter idiots.
The Renault 11 that got its top chopped, then split in two and Bond is driving the front half. All really possible, right?
Sure, it’s front engine & front wheel drive. And apparently front fuel tank too. Oh wait…
Not a car, per se…but it’s Russian.

A fine chase sequence of destruction indeed !
2CV

All those fancy European sports cars he drives are great and all, but my favorite bond car is still the Mach1:

‘Live and Let Die’ had another car in it which intrigued me at the time, the Corvorado. I wonder if it’s anyone’s favorite.

Looks too much like a villain’s car to me!
It was the villain’s car, but it was in a Bond movie. 🙂
When I did a search for Corvorado, at the very top of the results page there was an ad: “Nauseous after chemo? http://www.prevenchemonausea.com ”
Not saying the two are linked, but Yahoo seems to think so…
Except with the car. you don’t need any chemo?
Secret confession:I quite like this view.
But the front? No.
Is he in a hurry to purchase permanent magnet gearless machines?

One of the worst movies brought one of the greatest cars. Octopussy and the alfa GTV6. It wasn’t actually Bond’s car, but was stolen by him.
I forgot Tuesday’s correct answer. R1200C.
.
had one of these ( in black of course) – man do they get squirrely in hard corners, felt like the tires were down & you were diving on a sponge.
oblig
Even better: the moon rover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y03zBX_q4TM
The Peugeot and Citroen from For Eyes Only.
504 sedan is one of my favorite cars of all time!
DB5, of course. But I’m still upset that the Z8 was sacrificed so soon. Though it did survive longer than some Esprits.
My least favorite Bond car was the Z3 in it’s desultory two minutes in ‘Golden Eye’. It was an obvious crass puff piece for a car with no redeeming qualities and lessened the film.
The 7-series was even more obvious product placement. A hefty German family sedan does not become a Bond car simply because it can be controlled remotely.
