Ford didn’t need to call it the Mustang Mach-E… but they did, so let’s deal with that. What we have is a good electric vehicle with Mustang-esque design elements. And if you automatically discount it simply because it has pony badges, you’re doing yourself a disservice. The Mach-E is really good. And we can’t wait to drive the GT version.
[Disclaimer: Ford tossed us the keys to the Mach-E and included a fully juiced-up battery pack.]
The name suggests Ford is perhaps falling out of touch with my demographic of “guy who used his parents’ 1965 coupe on a daily basis for several months about 32 years ago.”
Maybe that’s just me, though.
I’m just having a hard time getting excited about any of these electric cars. The lack of noise, and no manual transmissions just kind of kill all of them for me.
Have you tried? Silent, zip zap zoom juice powered happy whiplashes do have an entertainment potential. That said, I enjoy switching between the manual hatchback and the electric blob in my fleet, they have both their own thing to offer.
Mustang all the things! Well, except for all the things that should be Bronco.
I’ve seen one in person now. The owner loves it. She brought it to Cars and Coffee. The nomenclature is what it is. I do think Galax-e is a great name and could be used as an EV replacement for the Taurus/Flex hole. I would also use the Falcon name if I were Ford. Great video Jeff. You probably need to get another one and do a “Beer Run”(tm) EV range test.
