Ford Focus RS: The hottest of hatches

By Jeff Glucker Apr 11, 2017

Besides wagons, the most enjoyable segment that barely anyone in the States enjoys is the hot hatch. The hottest of the hatches is a space occupied by a Ford. Specifically, the Focus RS. It’s a 350-horsepower, all-wheel-drive, drift-mode-having fun machine… and it should put the Volkswagen Golf R and Subaru WRX STI (which needs to come back with a hatch or wagon version) on serious notice.
[Disclaimer: Ford tossed us the keys to this Focus RS and included a full tank of fuel. We actually left some tread on the tires, despite what you see in the video above.]

  1. Great video. “Pop pop pop” is good. My kids have let other kids know that “when daddy drives, the van sounds like a motorcycle”, which creates a sort of ambivalent vibe at parents meetings. But you have to start somewhere.
