This one will take some work to get, and keep it, in good shape. But I will say… the bones appear good, and it’s hard to deny just how cool this thing looks. According to the listing, the truck is a 1959 Ford F-250, and it wears a Sport King Camper as a home base backpack. In fact, the pair have been together since 195,9 when the original owner installed the slide-in camper. Now, you could become the owner of a classically cool camp rig for an asking price well under $10k.
The seller states that the motor was rebuilt in 2016 and has turned just 5,000 miles since. Additionally, the original motor is in a crate with a blown rod, so you still have the OG heart to this beast if you feel like going full hardcore resto on the rig.
The tires were new in 2016, which isn’t exactly a selling point. But the fact that the stove works, the electric bits work, and there’s a stainless water tank as well has me quite intrigued. Even more intriguing? The $7,000 asking price.
In this day and age of “I KNOW WHAT I’VE GOT”, it’s refreshing to see something priced appropriately. In fact, it almost feels underpriced based on what folks attempt to get for even pure hunks of crap. There’s no denying it will take a good deal of work to clean up the interior, but I think you could get it halfway to great and call it acceptable. Then you’d have the coolest rig in the campsite… well, all the Sprinter-Bros look on with a tinge of jealousy.
Share beers with one of them by a campfire, get them buzzed, and then flip the truck to them for double what you paid.
