I love movie props. There’s something I find intriguing about the idea of owning something that was actually used in the production of a movie or episode of television that I enjoyed. One of the best places to find such items is the Propstore. Often, they hold auctions to clear out what I imagine to be warehouses full of stuff in a Raiders of the Lost Ark sort of way. There’s a new auction coming up, and while scrolling through the many items offered, I stumbled across a few vehicular mementos that might interest you.
First up, we have a 1973 Ford Econoline. This is the van used in the film Ant-Man. Per the lot details, this is one of two used in filming. They don’t know if it has a 302 or a 351, but they also say it’s not running due to a bad carburetor. If this is just a fuel issue, it could be an easy fix. But you better really want the van, as the pre-auction estimate says they expect $15,000 to $30,000. The starting bid will be $7,500.

Next, check out this 1973 Pinzgauer! This one is from the film Thor and served as the vehicle of choice for Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. Sadly, the interior is pretty beat up, and this one isn’t running. Additionally, it says the chassis and steering were altered for stunt use. I’m not sure what that means, but I assume it was hooked to some other rig so a stunt person could operate it out of view of the cameras while Portman or another character acted behind the wheel. Regardless, if you could scoop this up for short money, it would be a fun machine to bring back to life. That likely won’t be the case since the auction estimate pegs this one landing between $12k and $24k. It sits with a starting bid of $6,000.

Moving on, we enter the John Wick universe. This one is referred to as Orange Paris Muscle Car. Diving down a bit into the listing, it’s instead called a rust-orange 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass, and it’s apparently a hero car. That means it was kept clean for shots as needed. Still, the listing says it has the original engine but was adjusted for stunt scenes. That would be surprising as film cars that need to be driven typically see an LS3 swapped in, as they are plentiful and easy to repair if needed. Either way, it’s a good-looking machine from a great film franchise. Propstore thinks it should fetch between $25k and $50k, which is a lot for an old Cutlass – but it’s nice to see that this one does look pretty clean.

Finally, let’s end on something for your two-wheel fans. What we have here is a Yellow Vector Cycle built for the Yellow Time Force Range from Power Rangers Time Force. The lot listing is unsure of the functionality of the bike, but even with that fiberglass bodywork, it should’ve been a ripper when working. Under the skin, you have a Suzuki RF900R. These things made about 125 hp, and delivered affordable sport tourer performance for those who didn’t need to go full bonkers liter bike. The estimate here is more down-to-Earth with a range of $3k to $6k and the starting bid sitting at just $1,500.
Of course, there are a lot more items being auctioned. So, if you’re into film and TV props, head over and take a look. If I had unlimited funds, I’d be quite partial to picking up this to hang on my wall.
