Looking for a Saturday driver? Here’s a good candidate, a 1995 Humvee. HMMWV? Hooniversal Multi-purpose Mobility Weekend Vehicle, of course. You surely know these suckers by heart by now, but this one used to belong to the Norwegian Army. Check it out.
The body on this Humvee is the M1097 Heavy version, so it’s been designed to carry heavier payload capacity cargo than the regular base models. The vehicle is equipped with basic armour, but this one mostly consists of canvas atop the basic structure.
The kilometer speedo is the easiest giveaway that this is a Norwegian wheeled vehicle. Still, all the instructions are in plain English, instead of having words like “møøse”. A møøse once bit a female Norwegian soldier, you know. No realli! She was Karving her initials on a HMMVW with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given her by the Norwegian Army… But I digress.
The technical specifications of the 6.5 L V8 turbo diesel are as such: 190 hp @ 3,400 rpm / 380 lbf·ft (515 N·m) @ 1,700 rpm.
The reserve price of this HMMWV over at retrade.se was set at 60k NOK, but at the time and with 11 days left on the auction the highest bid is at 76000 NOK, or 13k USD. It’s last been test driven in December 2012. It’s located in Kjeller, Lillestrøm, so you’ll need to make your way there as it’s sold “AS IS, WHERE IS”.
Would you bid more for this Weekend Vehicle?

Thanks for sharing! I am a bit surprised our army even used Humvees…on the other hand, everything American has some time-honoured, sparkling popularity. We even go for the crazy expensive F-35 attack plane instead of our neighbour's JAS, but I digress.
Wouldn't pay anything for a Humvee. Rather more for the typical Norwegian army vehicles:

Ahh, it's just not a horn unless they put a little picture of a trombone on it.
That's a bugle.
Oh crap, I meant to say trumpet. Still, technically wrong I suppose.
Heh- you bungled the bugle.
Very cool. Too bad it's thousands of miles away.
Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti
Does make me wonder if soccer-mums would keep tailgating me in their Q7s, and Land Cruisers. I UNDERSTAND YOUR CAR MAKES YOU SAFER IN A COLLISION.. BECAUSE YOU'LL RUN MY BABY NISSAN OVER 🙁
That version looks very useful compared to the "Douchemobile" version so popular in the USA.
Has the odometer rolled over a few times or does this thing really have only 7274 km on it? That's almost brand new.
Your means of describing the whole thing in this paragraph is genuinely
pleasant, all be able to effortlessly know it, Thanks a lot.
Howdy would you mind letting me know which
webhost you’re working with? I’ve loaded your blog
in 3 completely different browsers and I must say this blog loads a
lot quicker then most. Can you recommend a good internet hosting provider at a fair price?

The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to
see if it can survive a forty foot drop, just so she
can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83
views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share
it with someone!
