They say that Russia is a state of mind, or something like that. I can’t really comment on it because the last time I was there it was still the Soviet Union. But seeing thousands of photos and videos of Russians and Russia on social media, is sure looks interesting. But it wasn’t until recently that someone started to follow an extremely interesting aspect of the modern Russian culture – homemade or strangely modified cars!
The Instgram account of “autosamodelka” is exactly that. Professionally modified Totally hacked cars that exemplify taste, beauty, and technical knowledge forward thinking inspirations made by large amounts of vodka and too much free time. See for youtself:

I’m sure it’s terrible to drive, but I adore the greenhouse on that last car.
Speaking of pics of Russian cars… I saw this in the morning headlines. Russian vintage car rally, “The rally includes cars such as the ZIL, the Chaika, the Volga, Zaporozhets, Pobeda, Moskvich and the Zhigul.” And plenty of polka dots!
