The Audi RS 7 is one hell of a car. You may remember when our own Jason Connor took on Shift Sector in one. But then so is the Audi RS 2 Avant. While not as powerful at the RS 7, it is no slouch, and it is a wagon. It is also limited production modern classic, which in itself makes it special, whereas anyone with money can just go buy a new RS 7.
So, given the choice, which one would you pick?

The red one looks huge in comparison, but I’d take the black one – wagon, and a realistic chance to diagnose and maybe even fix myself.

RS2 Avant all day every day. The red car will be cool in 10 years, notable in 20. By comparison the RS2 is amazing now, will be amazing in 10 years, and amazing in 20 years.
Whether you are an Audi fan or not the simple fact this is a fast factory wagon should make it something more then just an old Audi. -
No question, I would pick the ur-Quattro.

I want the RS2, but I also don’t want to depend on a 25 year old Audi as my sole source of transportation. I don’t think I can ever think ill of a big, fast 5-door hatchback, even if the RS7 is no SD1.-
Someone in my town daily still drives a blue RS2. Has had zero problems, ‘being a manual helps’

The RS2 is also not as pigfat, and only weighs in at 1600 kilos or 3500 lbs and not over TWO METRIC TONS or 4500 lbs like the RS7.

Turbo 5, manual trans… Duh.

RS2 no question. RS’s were always wagons till the first RS6 sedan came out. The RS2 was co-designed by Porsche which was big when Audi wasn’t big into sport. RS7 is thinner S8, just by the S8. Manual & a drivers car vs all this DSC techno wizardry for plebeian owners who should have bought the low HP model.
