How this was even possible is beyond my comprehension.

Ok, I think he had the trailer backed up to the ramps, then drove the car halfway into the trailer. Then he put the parking brake on the car and pulled the trailer away from the ramps. Probably with the car in neutral.
Which is clever, but this is one of those ways people outsmart themselves to death-
I want to watch him undo that and get it back on the ground again.

Well, it *might* be possible to put it in gear and release the parking brake, then back the trailer up until the ramps are lined up with the trailer again?

1. Car is fully on trailer.
2. Ramps are touching the ground and the trailer. If possible, overlap the top of the ramp and the back of the trailer.
3. Back the car down the ramps, off the trailer. As soon as the back tires touch the ground and clear the ramps, stop.
4. Move ramps to behind the rear tires. Place a big timber under the ramps to create an incline.
5. Back up another two feet (onto the ramps), taking care not to drive off the back of the trailer.
6. Work underneath car. Pray that nobody unhitches the trailer coupler while you are underneath.

I saw this same thing, as an illustration in my Boy Scout Fieldbook, as a deadfall bear trap.

Did they show a 2-door hatchback, or something heavier? I don’t remember the illustrations in mine being memorable in any way.

I finished installing my sway bar a few days ago and decided I’d put some POR-15 over some of the parts of the frame that are starting to develop rust before putting the bed back on. Unfortunately today ended up being a windy day, so now my lovely work is coated with manner of debris. Grrr…

Hi guys, I’m looking for a complete set of 1988-1992 Car & Driver magazines. Any tips would be appreciated. I don’t want to pay $11 per issue on eBay.

I found this LHD 1961 Vauxhall Cresta the other day and I can’t get myself to close the browser tab. I won’t buy it, but I just think it’s very pretty and interesting with its mature 50’s look and all its…crests. The wraparound windshield and A-pillar are just gorgeous!

You gave reasons to buy it, but not any reasons not to …

I know, dammit… 🙂

Do you have a least-favorite child they might take in trade?
/unsure of how parenting works-
They’re already bound up in other deals… =8^)
