Last Call: Skating Over Tradition

Over the years the Indy 500 has seen its share of innovative racers as well as the weird attempts to bend the rules. An example of the former is Mickey Thompson’s 1963 entry, the Harvey Aluminum Special, better known as the Roller Skate for its tiny 12-inch wheels. Thompson ran afoul of the rules with those diminutive doughnuts and had to switch them out for 15-inch Halibrands for the race.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day.  It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.
