Last Call – Bad Customer Service

By Jim Brennan Jan 9, 2011

During the weekend shift, I noticed this particular comment attributed to an image that was used for a posting back in October of 2010.

Im interested on buying that 1987 toyota cressida burgandy contact me at cr**********@gm***.com thanks.

Now this was one of my Craigslist Search Postings, and as many of you know, these posting usually disappear within 30 to 60 days. The person who left this comment has a screen name of Cressida Fan. More after the jump….

Here is the link for the image, and his comment. However, there was also a comment within the original posting, inquiring about these wagons from a guy names normand….

i try to look for a phone number for contact this cressida owners but thats the only thing missing iam very interested on buying atleast one of this fabulous wagons text me at 407 965 6530

I guess I will have to have a disclaimer at the beginning of each of these postings stating:

I do not have any of the highlighted cars for sale. They are being offered by the original listing agent. Please go to the links to make your inquiries, and leave me the hell alone!

Too Subtle?

  1. Murilee went through the same thing with the various PCH and NPOCP posts, and complained about it regularly on Jalopnik.
Some people are just 'tarded as hell, is all.

    1. I thought it was Davey that did about three such posts, including the cotomer sevis one. I'm sure they all got such email though.

  2. Jim, you should talk to Rob Emslie and Murilee and compare notes… The first one of you to be accused of poor "cotomer sevis" should have to buy the first round of drinks the next time you three are out paintin' the town…

  3. Charles covered the spelling corrections, and my wit is congested, so all I can say is Holy crap! DUAL rear windscreen wipers!
I'll be at the Yugo dealership with the rest of the slow class.

    1. Toyota brought that back for the mid-90's Camry wagons (possibly the only cool thing about them, although they were probably the last pretty decent Camry). I'd suggest that's worthy of an Encyclopedia Hoonatica post, but I don't know if there'd be much outside of these two.

        1. And current Morgans, and the old uni-Benzes.
          /misses Hoonatica
//also suggests unusual factory aero devices

  4. I vaguely remember conversating with Cressida Fan. Seemed like a nice enough fella. Some sites (BAT for example) do serve as a go-between so I can see why he'd take the chance asking. No harm, no foul. But yeah, a disclaimer couldn't hurt.
