Found on Ebay: Seven Deadly Sins Edition

By Hooniverse Feb 25, 2010

Lust be thy sin

Deuteronomy 5:21 ‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, and you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field or his male servant or his female servant, his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.’
But what if your neighbor owns an original 7?

Luckily enough, I don’t have any neighbors with the aformentioned 7, so I’m safe in that regard.  I’m pretty sure it doesn’t say anywhere “don’t covet that Lotus 7 you found on Ebay” though.
Definately no Sloth

What we have here is an all-original, 1971 “7” with only 49,000 miles on the clock.  Somewhat shunned by purists, the Series 4 (S4) model was not as popular as the previous models, and sold less than previous generations.  Only about 800 were produced from 1970-73.
Scars add character

Seller claims everything on the car is in great shape, save for a few blemishes here and there.  Comes with the original factory soft top and all 5 factory alloys.
Head over to Ebay and get your sin on!  Current bid is $17,000.

    1. If I had a Seven or a Se7en, i would so commute in it. Why let it sit there doing nothing waiting for a track day when it can make a routine, dull commute more special?

      1. until you pass an 18-wheeler. then you will realize the lugnuts are at your eye level and you car might as well be reinforced with twigs.
lotus sev[7]en = track / empty roads only

      2. 17 grand for a used Camry or a used 7 to commute in… Yep, that's a no-brainer. They get about the same mileage and you have the added benefit of under-trailer lane changes.

  1. I would counter your quotation of scripture with, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Colin Chapman." (John 1:17, Hooniversal Standard Translation).

  2. It is a series 4 so that makes it a "real" Lotus. But it is also ugly. If you have ever seen one of these in person you know just how horrendous they look. It has so much fiberglass and is so ugly it looks like there should be a flat 4 hiding in the back of it. Better off getting one of the good clones instead.

    1. agreed. get a good clone, that way you don't feel bad driving it, it looks better, and no one will get mad at you for dropping any variety of LSx into it…
      although I'd go 5.0 Cammer
      but still

  3. If I had it I'd like to make the acceleration a bit snappier, but how am I supposed to stuff a SBC in that thing? Some cars just aren't made to be hooned.

  4. I would've thought this'd circumvent the seven deadly sins – one driving this certainly isn't a victim of greed, gluttony, or sloth. It's not all macho and angry, so wrath is pretty safe. But then I remembered the lust. Oh, how I remembered the lust.
