Found on Ebay: A Subaru Justy, with a Heart Transplant

Here at Hooniverse Central, we seem to get tips from our readers all the time. And look, here’s another one from long time Hoon, LTDScott (Thanks, Man). So what do you get when you cross one of the most underwhelming models Subaru ever produced with one of their all conquering, rally bread sports cars? You get this thing!

This is a 1993 Subaru Justy with a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0 turbo AWD swap. The seller claims that all the axles, brakes, and spindles have all been installed on this car along with the rest of the drive train, and that it is registered and drivable. The motor has been modified with an evo16g turbo, Sti injectors, a large aftermarket inter-cooler, K&N typhoon intake, custom headers, and a modified HKS exhaust system.

The car has a Salvage Title, so that may just stop you there. However, for a truly outrageous track machine, this is it, and its a no reserve auction, with a starting bid of $5,000. So, do you think $5K is too much for a Justy with an STi Heart?

5k is pretty steep, but the enjoyment that you could get out of this is almost there. However, I would rather have a Saab 9-2 STi swap.

Didn't the Saab 9-2x Aero have the heart of an STi?

Sti, no. WRX, yes. But modified and tamed down quite a bit.

That's just awesome! I'd want to give it a good once over before purchasing, but I don't see $5k as being too much for this giant killer. The labor to do such a swap yourself would be worth at least half that much. The looks of bewilderment that you'd get when you smoke Civics, Integras, and the like time and time again in a Justy, well, there's no price that can be put on such joy. I love this!

It's an amazing sleeper; too bad it's an automatic. But, seeing as there are currently no bids, $5 grand-ish would be a nice price. Despite the auto, it would be a ton of fun to hoon.

Hmmm. I am not sure if I would call it a sleeper with the saw dust shovel hood scoop and the wheels stickin out like that.
      just sayin..

This little rodent has got to be scary fast. I just checked the ad, and yeah, he admits that the rear tires scrape the fenders when you hit a big bump. I spotted that. reading the description, the guy seems honest and he probably did this right. This oughta be a good toy for some maniac.

Rally bread sounds delicious! I think I'll have some with lunch today.

Try a grilled cheese on rally bread with gouda – awesome!

Toasted rally bread is delicious with some strawberry jam. I also like to use rally bread for my peanut butter and bacon sammiches.

Peanut butter and BACON?!? 'Neerd, that sounds heavenly! I enjoy the classic peanut butter and nanners, myself. The wife thinks I'm crazy for it.

This is getting weird… I'm making PB&J for lunch today at the office.
            /coincidence?

          2. engineerd Avatar

I made it last summer while living as a bachelor in Florida. It is heavenly. The sweet and salty and creamy peanut butter and crunchy, salty and savory bacon are perfect compliments.

I have to think a light drizzle of maple syrup would put that right over the edge into "deadly good" territory.

          4. alewifecove Avatar

I have one even better, Bacon Beer. Yeah Beer.

This would be near-epic with a manual. Damn shame about the auto.

I'd like to see the faces on the guys at the next SCCA RallyCross when this shows up.
I'd hate to see the face of my wife when she sees it in the driveway. I guess I should clean out the garage so she won't see it.

    1. soo΄pәr-bādd75 Avatar

Something to consider; the pile of stuff in the driveway AFTER cleaning the garage out might not make her too happy either.

      1. engineerd Avatar

Good point. Especially if it's in her spot.

Wasn't the original Justy motor an inline four? If so, this is truly an impressive transplant.

I think it was a three.
