Craigslist: British Beef The TVR 280i

It’s British, what could possibly go wrong! All electrical wiring aside, I find this British targa-clad sports car quite the interesting find here in California. Originally, it was known as the TVR Tasmin and then later it was changed to the 280i, as seen on this model. Mostly a hodgepodge of Ford power plants and various running gear, this particular model is very clean as the photos show… and it’s for sale. Quoted from the ad:

21,000 Original Miles, 4speed trans, A/C 90% Original Paint in excellent condition The engine is a German Ford 2.8 liter with Bosch fuel injection. These engines are well known for their reliability. The car does not leak and the engine is smooth and runs well. Car drives great..A/C needs a recharge but that’s about it..very rare car in very good condition. All gauges work fine. This TVR can operate as a closed convertible, open convertible, or as a Targa, due to it’s removable hard roof panel. All windows are perfect. Interior is all new..Convertible top is new. The power windows work perfectly. There is absolutely NO chassis rust, undercarriage/chassis still has the original powder coating and it is in incredible shape. The calipers are in perfect working condition. Factory Jag rear end with inboard rear disc brakes. It even has the original brake pads on! Only 472 of this model built in 85..Selling due to Vintage Racing Triumph Spitfire restoration. Clean Title in hand.

Does the $11,500 asking price seem like a fair assessment for this unique piece of British 80’s nostalgia? [Source: San Diego Craigslist]
