Weekend Edition – It's Better This Way: Mitsubishi HSR-II

The 1989 HSR-II is one of six Mitsubishi’s Highly Sophisticated Transport Research concept cars, and my favorite of those. It’s a wild, elongated aerodynamic shape, and it even has a double bubble roof. These promo shots depict the car in the desert, and they have an otherworldly quality about them.

Weekend Edition – Transport to Central: 1985 Nissan CUE-X

The 1985 CUE-X most likely showcased the design for the upcoming Maxima. Pronounce “CUE-X” and it makes sense, as the Maxima was sold as Maxima QX in some markets. You can spot 4DSC styling details here and there, and as a whole it’s definitely interesting-looking. So flush.

The Japanese Concept Car Weekend Edition continues with the Dome Zero. The Zero is rather a small-scale production prototype car than a true concept car, and it was made in small numbers from 1978 to 1986. It looks incredible, and is easily one of my all-time favorite cars.
