The 1985 CUE-X most likely showcased the design for the upcoming Maxima. Pronounce “CUE-X” and it makes sense, as the Maxima was sold as Maxima QX in some markets.
You can spot 4DSC styling details here and there, and as a whole it’s definitely interesting-looking. So flush.
The CUE-X:s presence side-on is almost Audi A8-like, as the heavy wheels add to that. The VG30DETT is said to have had 300hp.
This cut-out handily shows the car’s four-wheel-drive and four-wheel steering. Oh, how I wish it would’ve made production as is. At its time, Nissan still made barges like the Laurel, Cedric and the old Maxima. This really was a leap forward.

In addition to the Maxima, I'm thinking this may have had some influence on the 2nd gen Leopard F31 coupe as well.

Wow, how much Ferrari 400 can you put in a sedan?
This much:

Great picture and I love SD1s, but they refer back to the 365 GTB and GTC.The 400 had a very elegant notchback.Sorry, can't do images at work check hoonivarchives.
To Infiniti … and beyond.

My thoughts exactly; I thought I was looking at an early Infiniti prototype.
Anyone who does not see the Q45 in this is either legally blind, or otherwise un-Hoonworthy. Alff, you nailed it.
