Weekend Edition – How about these two Blue Italian Lovelies to kick off Mothers Day…

Recently Updated58 Across these United States, we are celebrating Mothers Day, and I’m desperately trying to tie this into a theme for my postings for the weekend. Failing miserably at that task, let’s just dive into these two Italian Beauties I spotted over at the Blue Car Appreciation Society Facebook Page. They are both offered for sale on Craigslist, they are both currently in California, and they both are exceedingly rare sights here in the States… Fullscreen capture 5112014 80359 AM.bmp This is a 1967 Autobianchi Panoramica Wagon, and according to the listing:

1967 Autobianchi Panoramica wagon. These were the “upmarket” versions of the Fiat 500, and use the some powertrain, chassis, and running gear. The Autobianchi Bianchina “Trasformabile” (with rollback sunroof) is somewhat well known here as they were sold in fair numbers by Fiat dealers in the US. These routinely bring $30k-$40K at various classic car auctions. Fullscreen capture 5112014 80410 AM.bmp The Panoramica wagons were never sold here in the US, so saying they are rare here is an understatement. I would guess that you could count all of them on one hand and maybe have a finger or two left over… This car has the original Italian Libretto showing that it only had two owners from the same family in Bologna (first named Luigi!). It was legally imported from Italy by a movie prop company in LA. Fullscreen capture 5112014 80405 AM.bmp The car is currently registered in my name and has been used as a daily driver (wife drives it to work during the week), to the beach, and to our local Cars & Coffee on Sundays. The car has been totally reliable, starts every time, and is oil tight. Everything (lights, blinkers, horn, charging system, etc.) functions as it should. The car is in very nice unrestored condition, although it could be improved with new paint and minor bodywork. The interior is very presentable, and I wouldn’t do a thing inside. Fullscreen capture 5112014 80417 AM.bmp This is a tiny car with a tiny engine, so it is a perfect “city car” that will turn heads, save gas, and can be parked easily. It is also very practical, as the rear seat folds flat to create a surprising amount of cargo space – the ultimate grocery getter or advertising for your business. Would also be a cool surf wagon with boards on the roof!

Fullscreen capture 5112014 80352 AM.bmp Asking price for this unrestored Italian Delight is $12,000, which is a considerable sum for such a small car, but it may very well be worth at least that amount. See the listing here, and tell me what you think about it. 1960 Fiat 1100 103h - Google Chrome 5112014 80453 AM.bmp Here is a 1960 Fiat 1100 103h Sedan that currently calls Hollywood home. According to the listing:

Price reduced again! I’m moving soon so I have to let it go unfortunately. 1960 Fiat 1100 103h - Google Chrome 5112014 80541 AM.bmp Real Italian classic. all original. engine just rebuilt. less than 2000 miles since. just a couple rust spots but nothing serious. one of the few ones with a radio. original audiovox. currently registered and i use. front tires would need replacement soon. other than that perfect.

1960 Fiat 1100 103h - Google Chrome 5112014 80502 AM.bmp Asking price for this 54 year old Italian Classic is $10,000. Is that a good price for the Fiat Aficionado, or should he simply ship it back to Italy (where I think it would sell quite easily). See the listing here, and leave a comment or two about this Italian Classic. 1960 Fiat 1100 103h - Google Chrome 5112014 80510 AM.bmp
