You know we love Corvairs here at Hooniverse.
Our own Jim Brennan drove one (along with CTS-V Racing School Graduate Blake Z. Rong) at a few 24 Hours of LeMons events back east. Big Muscle host (and friend of Hooniverse) Mike Musto was also a part of that team at some point, and it most likely lead to a strong dislike for the mid-engine machine. Now, however, he’s had a chance to drive one that has been sorted out. Well, sorted is putting it mildly… this thing is amazing, and it’s packing V8 power amidships.
Check out Mustos experience with the V8 Corvair after the jump.

It's a really good looking car. I'm so glad it's getting some recognition
Accept CD @ 1:22, nice! Balls to the Wall!
The second-gen Corvair is very near the pinnacle of mid-60s automotive styling, in my book.
We had a guy in our club that built one with a mid-mounted Toronado 425, using a Buick switch-pitch converter in the Turbo 425, and man, was it ever fast. That is until a lady driving a minivan rear-ended it while he was heading home from a post-club meeting dinner meetup. He sold it to someone out of state, and I don't know if the new owner rebuilt it.
Chuck Rust never sleeps.
This is such an interesting topic to discuss on. May we have more of this on your next post? Do you have exhibition recording or a video of the Land rover oem parts catalog? I would surely love to watch Land Rover Cars since I'm very fan of it.
