A V badge is one of my favorite emblems on a car. It means I’m dealing with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and rear-wheel-drive. It means I’ve got the keys to one of Cadillac’s finest. It means I better get off my ass and go do something fun… so I did. The V badge in question this time around is the 2013 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, and I set off for downtown Los Angeles to take in the sights. Actually, I went there to create some sights, because it was well after midnight… and I had a lot of room for “activities”.

Bonus note: How about the shots of my ganglion cyst on my wrist?
I got drunk one night and let my wife and mother in-law try to fix it the ole' fashioned way: [youtube XmFUEUm0KaE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmFUEUm0KaE youtube]
Jeff, the people in your life clearly don't want to hurt you. You can tell they're not going full force and almost pulling up at the end. This merely prolongs the pain as the impact hurts, but there is no relief. I do not have that problem. I will gladly hurt you. If you would like to come to the greater Philadelphia area I will gladly beat the shit out of your wrist with a book.
All I request is a CTS-V in payment.
I'm going to see a hand surgeon later this month… but thank you
I had a pilonidal cyst removed from around my tailbone in 2011. I hope your wrist heals more timely than my ass (April to September).
Haaaahaaaaaaaaa. I thi.k I would just head off to the doctor..or go see pj if you think docs are a bunch of quacks as I do.
"Get the Bible!"
I saw a CTS-V Coupe yesterday… At the grocery store. I wanted to track down the driver and shake their hand, unless they had a gross-ass cyst.
It isn't as noticeable as it seems in the video, so I felt I had to say something about it – haha…
"gross-ass cyst"
Please see Mr. PJ134 a few comments up. Or is that "gross ass-cyst?"
That lead in shot is brutal… The things I would do…
When i first saw photos of the coupe, I thought that it was pretty ugly, but maybe I'd like it better in the flesh, or it'd grow on me in time. I didn't like the gen 2 CTS-V sedan at first either, but now I really like them. But after having seen several V-Coupes in real life, I can definitely say that nope, still ugly. Just too much booty in the pants. It's a beautiful roof attached to a shipping container. It's disturbingly similar in side profile to my friends SRX. Mechanically, it remains one of my favorite cars in the world, but give me a sedan or better yet a wagon version any day of the week.
In any case, excellent review, glad to see a a burnout or two in an auto review 🙂

Is that better or worse?
How about driving impressions of that cyst, alcology. Id love to get your take on its handling characteristics.
It's a little soft really. Hardens up in the corners, but you really gotta work at it.
Yes, yes. That will do! Definatly mad my night a bit more interesting. Thanks.
hahaha, cheers!
Good film, Jeff. One question on the car; how does it settle down when you're just trying to get somewhere in a relaxed state of mind? Being driven hard is one thing, but some cars just don't seem to know how to chill out. I always rated BMW M stuff over Merc AMG and Audi S cars on that front, interesting to see how the Big C compares.
The trick to the LS family of motors is that you never want to do anything relaxed in them. They're like puppies, just want to play.
Basically, I don't think anyone knows the answer to that question.
It glides as softly as a cloud… unless, there's a chance the track could bend.
Seriously, it's a breeze around town.
Sweet. Even the S63 AMG can't stop from digging you in the ribs when all you want is to trundle while listening to violin music…
nice job jeff!
i am about to see the video, just a little thing before. the post is tagged "aston martin reviews".
now i've seen it, and it's really great. congrats!
my fault – thanks
Excellent film, really enjoyed it. And great production: follow car, suction cup mounts on hood, 2 cameras running at once, overlapping soundtracks, etc. Great ending scene too.
Yeah, seriously; excellent work, Jeff.
Sick video. Must be nice to have the TST crew working with ya. And what a muscular looking machine.
This is a good video.
