The weekend was crammed full of Peugeot 205 content, so I’m riding the coattails of that goodness even today. As a Helsinki sighting, here’s a very bright little Pug for your Tuesday enjoyment.
The 205 “Green” was a special edition available for a number of years during the 205’s tenure, and it was a differently specified version of the XS model. Same engine, same gearbox, same amount of power, but no front airdam and no bucket sport seats. And yeah, they were all white. This one isn’t.
I can’t tell you where the colour choice in this case has come from, but it’s very vivid. Good job they didn’t respray the bumper overriders / headlight washers, as those are good for bumpin’.
From this shot, you can see some of the tricks the Green had up its sleeve: big sunroof, special green upholstery and possibly these alloy wheels. I have the same kind of set in white, which would mean they’re from the Lacoste edition instead.
Unlike mine, this 1988 car actually has a twin-choke carb engine with 85 horsepower. I don’t know how fiddly the carb is to adjust, but if the 205 is still in daily use, it can’t be too finicky.

No bucket seats? They look like buckets to me, at least from the rear.

Of course, as opposed to a bench seat. But these are just regular ones instead of the more hugging GTi-spec seats.
