Missouri Brakes

A recipe for disaster- take one part Cadillac with the gas gauge on E, one part gas station at the bottom of a hill, mix in a healthy dose of pushing and a too-late realization that the power for the power brakes requires a running engine, and what do you get? Well, for Abel’s Quick Shop in Hannibal MO, it was a de ville in the doorway. Missouri is nick-named the “Show-me” state, what this shows me is Darwinism at work. Fortunately no one was hurt in the accident.

If Mark Twain were still alive, he would probably write an amusing novel about this event.

One of my favorite metaphors has always been, "as subtle as a Cadillac crashing through a plate glass window." Well, there you have it.
