Yes, this could’ve been for Last Call yesterday… but instead of Two-Wheel Tuesday, let’s just call this one a win for Wheelie Wednesday. Here’s the full pic from Instagram user @Jeff_Allen_Photos:
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.
Hoon on Triumph, as if the new Speed Triple isn’t sufficient proof of Triumph’s commitment to hoonage.
I’ve never learned to wheelie.
I’ve spent most of my
adultlife on two wheels, earned a living wage on bicycles and scooters, taken dirt bike riding lessons, been a member of a chopper bicycle gang and even learned to ride a unicycle but never figured out “sustained, controlled” wheelies. I even built a Schwinn Typhoon, the bike every Baby Boomer learned wheelies on, with a 7 speed rear wheel and still couldn’t get the hang of wheelies.Dirt Bike Instructor, “Don’t learn how to wheelie; you’ll just do it all the time.”
I’m ok with wheelies on BMX & mountain bikes, but even after hundreds of thousands of miles on motorcycles, I’ve zero inclination to attempt one on anything with an engine.
Hanging the back end out is more fun anyway. Or at least that’s what I tell myself.
I’m practicing them on my MTB… and I SUCK AT IT. But I will keep working on it.
Getting the courage to lift to the right point is not as easy when you’re 38 years old.
My knees & other joints could take a lot more at 38 than they can 10 years later.
I stopped riding wheelies when I got old enough to have a car. I no longer remember how to ride one.
…on two wheels, anyway.
Don’t feel too bad about it, Former Olympic MTB racer Adam Craig can’t do a wheelie either, he can only do a manual.
Power wheelies I’ve done, but showoff wheelies elude me.

Is that an old KLR?! Those pannier boxes must be loaded with ballast.
Anything will wheelie with enough clutch abuse.
