You don’t have to be fast to be competitive, you only have to be as fast as the competition. Here that competition is the under 125-CC class, and the racer is Bill Peden on his 50-cc (them’s moped specs) NSU racer back in 1965. I don’t care how slow it may be, it still looks like a ball to race.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

I did a quarter mile, once on a Yamaha TY50 (2 stroke).
I'll never get back that 36 seconds.
Maybe NSU had the right idea. No suspension = lighter.

Anyone ever seen the strange Japanese sport called "Auto Race"? It's flat track asphalt racing on specially prepared motorcycles with some funky handlebars. The bikes are kept under lock and key until the start of the race.

Ooooh! Leading-link front suspension setup.
Reminds me of my 1980 Honda C70 Passport.
I rode the crap out of that machine… Really liked it.
