It’s Italian built! Same line as the 500x. I’m sure the great US war machine being built by a former Axis power counts as irony, but I’m not sure for who.
Also, its totally weird that the 500x looks to have more ground clearance than its Jeep equivalent (even if thats not true).

Last night I saw one of those JKs with the “Willys Wheeler” package, and the stupid logo stenciled on the hood. I seriously wanted to wipe my butt on its ‘authentic styling’ (as the Jeep website calls it.) At least it wasn’t a 4-door Wrangler (Hah! That cracks me up every time I say it. 4-Door Wrangler! Hah!)

Ohhhh… that’s a factory graphics package? Yikes. I’ve been over here quietly thinking bad thoughts about at least two different owners I had wrongly assumed got really presumptuous custom vinyl cut for their Jeeps.

I really want to hate the Renegade (as is my wont with CUVs) but I kinda dig it anyway. It strikes me as an effort to make a CUV that’s more capable and/or more fun to own than I picture the average CUV.
…but, the Jeep I’d be most likely to own would still be either a Grand Cherokee or the upcoming Wrangler-based pickup.-
There’s no Jeep I’m really listing after (unless you count the Grand Wagoneer), but I agree on this one being a success designwise. It just looks fun, well thought-out, and it is priced right. The intended audience won’t overthink any of the implications mentioned above.
