Okay off topic, but I'm pissed, the level of trolling here has recently gotten out of hand:

Take a deep breath. It'll be OK. I think that first comment just didn't come out well. We'll all be keeping an eye out, and keeping our cool. In the meantime, the curator's response to trolls on Letters of Note turned out to be one of the better letters on the site:
And then, silence.
I was helping my kids with math did not have much time, I'll read the letter in a bit, but the second longer comment was a copy paste out of a comment on jalopnik earlier, that was my main point. Those two may not be the same person, or they may be, or they and roberto may be, and all this stuff has been increasing in number recently, it's crapping on a site I've loved.
I've never been to that other site, but it seems like the crowd around here is much more easygoing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Hey mzs! I still read oppo on a regular basis (mindlessly scrolling through the gifs and the pictures, it's really good for that), and from what I've seen Waymoe's humour is more…wisecrack-y? Satirical? After one you learn to realize "it's Waymoe" and just read it for teh luls. I bet he isn't real-life Roberto, though. Just a feeling.
Personally, I like knowing that you ARE mzs and I know Deathair is Dearthair and so on. It's more…honest. I like that. But there's something interesting to be said about pushing the boundaries of being a guest in a community when you're practically anonymous and all that.
Oh and offtopic-offtopic: I was in Oshawa, ON yesterday evening. A bright blue Cordoba pulled up next to me (I was in nothing spectacular) and I gave the guy a thumbs-up. He appreciated that. If only I thought to ask if it had Corinthian leather!…
Wax on. Wax off.
What do you think would be the best college/ first job out of college car for a developing gearhead? I'm currently a high school senior and I'll probably be taking my parents old 2005 Ford Taurus across the state to college. Its a comfortable, reliable car with a huge trunk but it isn't exactly fun to drive. Its got fairly high miles so it will probably be replaced near the end or soon after I get out of college. I'll be on a tight budget and I'll need something at least a little practical. Don't know why I'm asking about something that's a few years in advance, but its fun to think about.

I guess there will be a sigh going through the crowd here, but that sounds like you want a Volvo. Maybe something with style (1), or something with power (2), or just something with character (3)? How "tight" is a tight budget?

Looking for a new car is half the fun of buying one. And it's free.
Since I'm looking so far into the future, I suppose I don't know the exact budget but we can safely assume I'll be looking at used cars well under $10,000.
