Hooniverse Truck Thursday – British Week: It's A Jaaaag Baby!

By LongRoofian Mar 17, 2011

A year or so ago, I was out and about and stumbled upon this Jagamino and grabbed a few images of it just in case.

In honor of Hooniverse Truck Thursday during this British Week I thought my fellow Hoons might enjoy seeing some images of it.

The interior of the bed is all diamond plate and I remember it being blinding bright in the Florida sunshine that day. The fuel filler and the antenna are questionably placed in the bed of this pick-em-up truck.

Those flying buttresses that are the sides of that bed reminded this olelongrooffan of the fins on a ’57 Belair. But hey, it’s got a sliding rear window!

No biography of the LongRoofian would be complete without [edited for length and adherence to subject matter] and your continued enjoyment of these ramblings is certainly welcome.

  1. Sounds good in theory, but not quite there in execution. I'm afraid to know what other automotive monstrosities are in your hard drive.

  2. It would look reasonably cool if it weren't flaired out at the top of the bed. Keep it sleek and lets see some BRG please. Bright yellow on an already ostentatious car doesn't work.

  3. Shouldn't this be a Jag-chero. What with the previous ownership of Jag by Ford. Or does the GM Turbohydramatic make it a Jagamino?

  4. As a fan of the XJ40, this gives me a sad. Why? Why not TWR-ify, why no BRG, why pickup, why are you trying to do this?…

    1. I know. If only Jaguar backed the changes in the design like they did for the XF and now XJ the XJ40 wouldn't have to deal with this. Instead they gave up after the press lambasted it. Square headlights!? That's not a Jaguar!
Now we just have to see if the Bangle butt 7er will face those adversities.

      1. I know; there are probably ten TWR-edition XJ40s for every one of these conversions, but this one's just so butt-ugly and pointless (and disfunctional, and half-assed…) that it has caused a gag-reflex and the uncontrolled repeat of why, why, why? for me. It' not functional as a ute because the bed's so shallow and it sure as hell doesn't embody the essence of being a Jag, so, really, why?
Now put it away and I'll pretend it never happened.

  5. Didn’t that model have two fuel fill ports? (Sorry – I am too sleepy and lazy to google this.)
