Hoonivercinema- Monday Music Video

Monday_Music_14_07_14 Did you ever consider John Mellencamp as sort of a cut-rate Bruce Springsteen? There’s the ernest affection for the working man, the guitar, and if you look closely I’ll bet you’ll see a bandana hanging from the pocket of his torn Levis too. That’s not to say that Mellencamp’s music isn’t enjoyable, and in fact this song – Little Pink Houses – off his 1983 album Uh-Huh – is eminently listenable. So much so that Rolling Stone magazine ranked it #439 out of the top 500 songs of all time. The video is an amalgamation of imagery taken straight from the lyrics, and both lack any of the allegorical qualities of Springsteen’s work. Still, the video features some cool old trucks and a Bullet Bird Roadster driven by an all-American girl who doesn’t seem to know how car doors work. Check out ‘the Cougar’ right after the jump.
