The Summer Holiday Weekend Edition is continued with Greek island van content: dumped into the field where the previous post’s unidentified pickup truck lies in Apollakia is this worn old Ford Transit. The weeds have grown long around it.
To be honest, over here in Finland these Transits have made the transition (…) to forests just as well. While in Greece they are on a field under the hot, baking sun, in Finland they are covered by pine needles in intermittent rain. Neither bodes well for the vans.
In a way, they make a lovely pair.
In Apollakia, I also saw this Nissan Vanette. Surprisingly un-battered for its age, and complete with its graphics.
These two VW Transporters were seen in the town of Monolithos.
But my favorite was this SEAT Marbella van, known as the SEAT Terra. The basic mechanicals and structure are shared with the Fiat Panda.
