Last week we kicked off a new series called Fantasy Finds. The idea is to share a dream garage vehicle found on Craigslist or eBay Motors, to share it with all of you, and then to hear about some of your fantasy finds out there on the webs. The vehicle featured in my fantasy last week was a 1968 Dodge Charger done up in a manner very close to how I’d like my own some-day car to look.
Now it’s time to look for a longroof, and boy have I found one. Yes I know I’m an unashamed Mercedes fan boy who likes to bash on all-things BMW, but not in this case. This is a 1994 E34 M5 Touring, and it’s offering up for sale practically in my back yard.
According to the seller, this isn’t simply a standard U.S.-spec car that’s been transformed into the superior European version. It’s a legally imported Euro M5 wagon, and it’s the real deal. In fact, it’s apparently just one of five ordered in this color combo for the European market making it an even rarer version of an already rare care.
It was undergoing a restoration when the seller states he has to sell for personal reasons and is liquidating some of his automotive stock. It looks well sorted at the moment yet the seller states there are a few more mechanical items to be worked over, and the paint could use some love.
So is it priced right at $22,500? Probably. I imagine the price isn’t far off from what it will actually sell for, seeing as it’s the real deal, seemingly legally imported, and extremely rare. This is one longroof that I don’t just want, I kind of need it.
Now it’s your turn… it’s friday and you know you’ve checked out mentally from work. Get out there and start sharing your Fantasy Finds.
