Lancia is one of those brands that will always be welcome in my heart, even if the car in question is a rusted heap formerly known as a Beta. While perusing Craigslist (like the lunatic that I am), I came across this poor Flaminia. Pre-Stratos, the Lancia that comes to mind for most is the Fulvia. The one that really catches my attention, though, is the larger Flaminia.

From the ad:
This 1960 Lancia Flaminia Pininfarina Coupe 2.5 LHD car is one of 4151 cars that were built during its entire production run. Very rare now days. It still sports the original California Black Plates with 40,072 original miles under its belt. Had been stored for many years and hence does require some restoration but a very solid and complete car to work with. It still has its original running gear which included a 2.5 liter all aluminium V6. These cars in decent condition fetch upwards of 32K USD but this could be had for much less. This particular model was preferred personal transport of Pinin himself.
While this example is very tired, I don’t think it’s beyond rescue. Oh, won’t someone please think of the Lancias?!
I can see myself cruising down the Italian Riviera in an Flaminia, with a young Sophia Loren in the passenger seat. Keep your Ferrari. I’ll take the Lancia.

This is really fantastic. The front end has a very DB5 feel to it (though the DB5 came later). Classy, unique, a car I'd keep forever and drive often.
How do the door panels look that clean with the rest of the interior looking like that…? Flood damage…?

The rest looks straight and complete though, so this will hopefully make a really nice restoration project for someone.
Probably stored full of boxes filled with rocks.
I have never owned this car.
Nobody has yet noted the two TC3/Horizons in the background? The spouse had a TC3 in day-glo orange when we were dating in college
I just noticed those, too.
Here is one of those two vehicles in the background, and that one is actually Shelby GLH-S, though it sure doesn't look it:

I think the maroon one is a Shelby Charger Turbo.
Interesting car, honestly presented. But I'd say the owner's asking about twice what might be reasonable for a car in much better condition. On the exterior, the chrome, paint and metal need serious help. The engine bay shows a lot of uneven maintenance, perhaps related to needed major services. And the interior is a fright show. The door panels look like they've been poorly restored, given new material and all the wrinkles. The rest of the upholstery, dash, carpet and wheel look like they've been out in the weather the entire life of the car. It's almost worth considering, but then. The rear of the car is just too odd, and that's saying something.
What a weird car. The paint on the hood and trunk look soooo good, but look at how the taillights have faded. It's like it sat under a carport, with the rear and the driver's side exposed to the sun. It doesn't look that bad under the hood; given the new radiator hose and the wire from the ignition resistor to the coil, it looks like someone's been trying to get it to run.
I've been poking around LA cl for some time. This car has been for sale for a long time along with a white automatic Peugeot 504. I'm guessing it's not as good of a deal as it seems.
In person, these are really handsome automobiles with a level of build quality comperable to Mercedes Benz's of this period. If I had the (considerable) means required for the task, I'd rescue it.
