2017 New York International Auto Show – Hooniverse Coverage

By Kamil Kaluski Apr 10, 2017

The 2017 New York Auto Show is upon us. Much like the Los Angeles International Auto Show, this is the one we always cover, mostly because some of us live close to it. Ross Ballot and I will be there, covering it. Ross will man the Official Hooniverse Instagram account and I will be managing Facebook and @TheHooniverse Twitter accounts, if I can remember the password. After the show, probably on Thursday or Friday, we will have our typical opinion post on all the new cars from the show.
The show opens to the public on Friday, April 14th.
Here’s what to expect from the show…

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which is much hyped, is expected to steal the show. It will actually be shown before the show, on Tuesday at 8:00pm EST, at a special event. We’ll be there and we’ll let you know what no one knows yet – exactly how much power it will make, how much it will cost, how many will be made, and what the hell were all those clues that Dodges gave us in all those videos.

Speaking of Chrysler and a lot of power, we will see the 707-horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. This thing is going to be bonkers – I don’t think I ever wanted to drive an SUV more than this.

Lincoln will show us the new Navigator, which will be nothing like the Ford Expedition
Toyota will have a new FJ 4×4 concept and updated Sienna.

Honda will show the sporty Civics – the Civic Type R and Civic Si.
Subaru will have the updated Outback.
Porsche may have a new GT3, possibly with a proper manual transmission.
Lexus will show the hot rod-ish version of the LS, the Lexus LS 500 F -Sport.
Acura will have an updated TLX and hopefully it’s more than just some wheels.
Volvo will show us the new XC60. If it’s anything like the XC90 and S90, and it will be, Volvo will have another winner on its hands.
Jaguar and Land Rover will have the updated F-Type, an XE Sportwagon (!!), and the Range Rover Velar
There is sure to be many more surprises, so keep your eyes on our social media accounts!

    1. The pic was stolen from the NY Auto Show official site. I don’t know what to make of it, I’ve heard nothing about. But I do like the huge ugly beast a lot.
