Even if you’re not a “Chevy Guy”, there’s no arguing the 68-72 Chevy and GMC trucks are among the most iconic and handsome around.
This one’s interesting to start with, but it’s also a great case study in the importance of basing your offer on a thorough in person inspection. The engine bay looks new, clean and well-done. The exterior’s free from obvious rust, has what I’ll generously call “maintenance primer” and spared any stupid aftermarket stuff. Were this your wife’s truck, the “rack” jokes would never cease. And yet, there’s no pictures of the interior. The seller tells us it needs a glove box, HVAC hose re-installation and auxiliary gas tank clean out. The gas tank’s not trivial, but were I selling at >$6,000, I’d take the time to address the other two.
We’re obviously not talking about a perfect, complete example here, but the $6,000-10,000 price range is rife with cars that show promise but are secretly basket cases. Ask me how I know. Anyway, bidding opens at $6,000 and ends Monday.

Because your project car needs a chase / tow vehicle. FIFY.
Looks like a good start to a nice project, but the 6K reserve seems a little hopeful at best.
It's hard to know from these pictures. I'd say 6-8k isn't absurd if it's at the high range of condition. Seems like a lot for an kinda rough looking truck, but just try to find a better one for that price… Hard to do.
No interior pictures is a "Tell". Needs glove box could be codespeak for "The Dash is gone".
Somebody swapped an earlier bumper onto it, so now it doesn't have any turn signals – on '71-'72 models, they're in the bumper. It'll never pass inspection that way. Also, what's up with the upper radiator hose?
You really have a good eye. No front turn signals on that truck!
just this week i picked up a 1974 pick up for a project,if it work the way i want ,i;ll have one hot tow vehicle for my 85 firebird i drag race,
I certainly agree that the 68-72 GM trucks are lovely, and they were the beginning of actually making refined, consumer-friendly trucks for the mass market. And I like Suburbans. But I have a problem with three-door Suburbans. I know why they were that way. But I don't have to like the look.
I love these Suburbans and I am a HUGE 68-72 fan. These years were the first for GM to offer a truck for more then just work vehicles. My 72' is optioned with the "highlander" trim package, which had alot of the Suburban elements like upgraded upholstery and trim. I have seen Suburbans go for much more then I ever thought they would and seem to still be climbing due to continued popularity.
Look out, the seller just might get what he is asking even with the flaws like that radiator hose and wrong bumpers… lol

Turn signals look to be behind grille kinda like 80s gm vans
i was gonna suggest that as a solution to the problem but on closer inspection it does appear to have signals hidden behind the grille.
