Mazda loves that Zoom-Zoom tagline. It means quite a bit to them. They take the idea of making driving entertaining quite seriously.
This is a brand that loves the very act of driving itself, be it on the street or on a trace track… and they’re good at both.
Hidden in a basement in Irvine, California sits proof of that….

Ask Mazda when we get the factory version of a fastback coupe. Note: this is not it but I like the overall look.

that museum looks dope. i’ve got mad respect for mazda, and their american offices seem to be really important to the stuff they do that makes me feel that way.

Wonder what Mazda to buy now: ca. 10yo, four doors, wagon….
Slightly unrelated: I like the small letter ‘hooniverse’ logo very much.

At 2:14, the video can see a red Miata hiding just behind the one of one gold Miata Coupe. That red Miata has its own odd story. It was an odd experiment where Mazda was considered altering the curvature line of the bottom edge of the door. The car has the standard door jam and shape on one side, and then has a square door jam and shape on the other. Just an odd, fun item found only at the Mazda hiding space.

Cosmos are awesome. One of the few advantages of being as old as me is remembering when I saw one or two going down the road.
If only there were a secret Studebaker basement somewhere.

Very cool. Do they have one of Rod Millen’s 4WD RX-7 rally cars in their collection?

I remember seeing John McElroy take a tour of the basement several years ago, on “Autoline Detroit”.
