For decades – seriously, decades – automakers worked tirelessly to make their cars’ paint shiny and lustrous. In the fifties and sixties, car paint even sometimes included metal-flake to give it added sparkle. Of course today what everybody wants is matte finish, and, if this European Audi is any indication, the next step will be. . . velvet. Mmmm, velvet.
