The Audi that hit this Volvo V40 not only bashed it in right well, it also left its mark – sort of a territorial indicator – so that everyone would know who not to mess with.

Busting out the jack immediately –
One thing that really bugs me when I'm trying to sell a vehicle is getting random completely unrelated and unlikely trade offers. So today I made one myself … asked a guy (no response yet) if he wanted to trade this for my motorcycle:

I really, really want an MR2 again, and this time never let it go …
Those are easy to get if you want some. They're stock R32 Skyline wheels.
No, they're white plastic. Oh, you're talking about the car in the /Foreground/…
Just curious…did you ever drive your MR2 in the snow and if so, how did it fare? I'm asking for a friend, you see…
I never did, no. Had a winter beater at the time.
Too bad the wagon wasn't a Meredes-Bends.
A Dodge would have been even better.
The Audi driver apparently lived by the "If you can't Dodge it, Ram it" philosophy…
Yeah, the Volvo driver should have gotten Audi the way.
What is it Clarkson says about Audi drivers?
If it's the new sort of Audi driver that Clarkson has noticed, I guess that would make this a tramp stamp.
+1 for European pedestrian safety laws.
If you use a coaster, you won't leave rings…
Looks like a pretty severe impact, with the doors bend like that. I remember getting in a similar V40 when I worked a short stint at my local Volvo dealer as a teenager. Car was waiting to turn right when some drunken guy hit it at 80km/h. The back doors were broken up and even the back seat was messed with, but the driver had been alone in his car and got away with a lot of luck. Ordered a new Volvo the instant his insurance gave the green light.
Apropos, "green". Just found this beauty. Has been parked since 2005, brakes and exhaust need fixing. But colour and wheels and model year are very appealing to me…

Man, that's sweet. One of my favourite early-240 shades (that, orange, and chocolate brown). I've never seen an early 240 without a clock between the vents on the center stack.
Go for it. What could go wrong?
That, Mr. FuzzyPlushroom, is good taste. My first car was a '77 242 in orange, I loved it! Brown fits any 70s car and dark green or BRG would be what I choose from most showrooms to this date. Sharp eyes about the clock…funny how the most stripped down cars live the longest, with their owners appreciating them the most.
What could go wrong?
English has one word to describe it all: Divorce.
Go for it ! Join the Green car movement, and shame those Prius owners with your attitude to reuse and recycling!
Camouflaging itself with some shrubbery, the green Volvo waits to pounce on an unsuspecting buyer…
I spent a couple of decades working (making a good living) on 240s. By now, most are like the proverbial 200 year old axe. The head has been changed 4 times and the handle 6. That said, like that same axe, they are just as reliable and functional.
When my daughter had her permit, her foot slipped off the brake and she tapped a Civic with our SUV. Owner wasn't around, they were trying to leave a note when she came out. Everyone inspected the car and could find nothing wrong. She gets home and we get a call from the husband saying once it was in the garage out of the sun there was obvious damage. Yeah, right. We arrange to meet at a location in between so I can have a look.
Our plate # was embossed in his bumper. I gave him our insurance info.
