Last Call: Her Name Was Lola Edition

Lola Slot
The Lola T70 is arguably one of the world’s most sensuous racers, and this one’s no exception. What is exceptional about this particular one is that it is in fact a slot car, tiny and very slotty. Slotforum member fotodoug took this and a number of other equally impressive shots, and encouraged others to share their own artistic endeavors. It’s all very cool and oh-so small.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

    Looks can be deceptive.

Did Disqus change for anybody else? I have to click on a view button to see pictures, where they just popped up before. It’s really annoying, since I often miss the view button and end up clicking the upvote or downvote button when I don’t mean to.

Sounds like how the ‘verse behaves when viewed on my phone. Never on the laptop. What’s your device of choice here?

Exactly how I prefer it: no need to download all images with my 100MB/month data plan every single time…

To each his own. I don’t normally surf this place on my phone, and having to expand each image while reading on my laptop would be profoundly annoying.Plus, unlimited data plan courtesy of my employer, so it’s a non-issue for me.
ETA: Just noticed Sjalabais responded with an answer about the option in Disqus to have images load or not. Good to know.

Oh, when Hooniverse switched to Disqs I stopped having month left after the data was over. Here’s looking at you, 4MB-per-visit wheelwell.com…

Laptop, that’s why it’s weird. Oh, if it matters, I’m running Windows 8.1 and Chrome.

Click on your name on the top right above the comment field and choose “display media”.
Disqus has occasional loading issues for me – it’s slow and may stop – and I dislike the “see mire”-concept that doesn’t display everything at once. Apart from that it works.

Thanks! That worked. Must have accidentally clicked on it…

You know Pyeonghwa? The North Korean car maker? If you do, good. If you don’t, watch this ad and get informed.

It’s not particularly exciting, but it’s got that creepy North Korean cheerfulness we all love.

Fun fact: one can go and buy this car, slightly modernized version nowadays, in Venezuela where it’s known as Dodge Forza…. http://www.dodge.com.ve/forza/

All of the T70 variants were lovely cars to look at and great all around performers. If memory serves, Eric Broadley may have used the T70 as a starting point for the Ford GT40.

The Lola Mk6 was the starting point for the GT40. Broadley used the funds from the sale of the Mk6 to design and develop the T70.

What beautiful cars they built during this era, and great races, too.
