Hooniverse Weekend Edition – A Cadillac Pickup via Bangshift.com

By Jim Brennan Mar 13, 2011

A quick posting, but check out this weird and wonderful Cadillac Eldorado Seville that has been converted to a pickup truck….. One more image after the jump…

According to Brian Lohnes over at Bangshift.com:

Intrepid BangShift reader Eagle Kammback was cruising the streets in his native New Jersey when he came upon what may be the single greatest roadside find in the history of the internet. This is an early 1980s Cadillac Eldorado that someone lopped the back off of and mounted what appears to be a Chevy stepside truck bed on. Honestly, have you seen a more garishly incredible car on the side of the road than this one?

We’re going to take a wild ass guess and say that this car was probably built as a funeral flower car.. It obviously was not fitted with the stepside bed from day one, but the way that the front was professionally cut and mated with what looks to be the “back wall” of a truck cab indicated to us that the work was not done by a hobbiest lunatic. A professionally educated and trained lunatic, yes.
It looks to us like the headache rack behind the cab is actually the headboard from a bed.

See the original posting over at Bangshift.com……. Wow!

  1. I just love the extra effort put into insuring that the Cadillac tail lights are present.

  2. Considering what a stock second-generation Seville looked like, I'd have to say that the results of this custom job are neutral. Maybe even an improvement.

  3. Absotively, posilutely no way was that a flower car, no self respecting funeral home would do that. This is someone with good bodywork skills (or willing to pay such a person) who wanted an El Camino with Twilight Sentinel and Guide-Matic. The bed headboard is there just to make sure you understand how redneck this vehicle is. As if we need any help in that department.

    1. I agree. The fuel filler above the license plate (where a stock license plate would have concealed the filler on a stock Seville) looks like too much of a kludge for a real flower car, as does the lower valence with dual exhaust outlet cutouts.
On the other hand, if I wanted a Sevilleamino and was already starting with a FWD chassis, I'm pretty sure the final result would have a tandem rear axle.
