Craigslist Crapshoot

The World’s Worst Car Is For Sale On Craigslist
Welcome to Craigslist Crapshoot, our weekly search for the most bizarre, awesome, and/or terrible vehicles that the online classifieds has to offer.
Last week we went looking for cars that you could potentially sleep in, perhaps in an emergency, or in lieu of having to wrangle a full-on RV. We’ll get to Lincoln, Blynken and Nod in just a sec, but first, I want you to get my drift.
Drift cars are this week’s quarry, whether already set up for the track attack, or cars that you think would make excellent side-ways racers. The only codicil is that they need to come in under $3,000.
As always, we want your finds to go down in infamy and not in the site’s spam filter. Since we’ve changed commenting systems, you may need to update your commenter account. Make sure you have a Disqus account – they’re free and easy to get – and then comment away.

Got that? Good, now let’s get 40 winks.

Avoiding other people’s bedbugs while on the road is easier than I imagined, and since spraying my mattress with Raid® I’m in good shape. Well, I am a little light-headed in the morning, but that passes after a while and I’m sure the rash will go away too.
Of course if it doesn’t then I might end up in this week’s most notable home away from home. That’s this crazy Munstermobile ’77 Caddy Hearse, found by OA5599 which could serve double duty. Either way, the fake ram intake and BFG-shod Cragars really make this Caddy a total casket case. Well done OA5599, and thanks to the rest of you for your contributions to the cause.

    1. Likely it’s unfinished. I am not sufficiently familiar with that engine bay to note if things are missing, however.

    1. Sometimes I’m really glad not many Hoons live around me to dig up things like this, since I want to buy it so bad, but the distance/cost ratio is too far skewed toward the former.

    1. And if you put some beefy meats on the front and brake hard enough, maybe it will do a stoppie!

    1. It is a good Crapshoot when the pictures are not immediately giving away which one of them is the parts car…

  1. So the basic idea must be RWD and a propensity to get the back out? It must help to have the engine in the rear and no weight up front, like this 1978 ZAZ 968A with its glorious 40hp for an amazing 749€:

Also: Drifting a wagon with fins, and most of the budget allocated to a massively misplaced engine? Sounds about right. 1978 Moskovich 2137:

    1. Also, while following up on this idea, I stumbled upon this glorious 1994 ZAZ Saporoshez Tavria that has been parked in a museum in Hungary all of its life. It is now in Germany, made roadworthy, and this “new” piece of post-Soviet machinery is available for a stunning 1800$. Had to send it to BaT, too, obviously:

Quite possibly the only one in the world like this!

      1. The Tavria is fwd so no dorifto! But they are still cool. A friend of mine is trying to import a ZAZ-968M to NYC. We’ll see how that goes.

        1. I know – that’s why I separated it. Cool business with the ZAZ. I grew up in blocks and between tall houses the wildly loud ZAZ is truly at home…how much does he expect to spend on shipping, fees etc?

          1. No idea yet. There is a group on FB called Eastern Bloc Cars (EBC) that has some knowledge on this kind of stuff. Hopefully they’ll help him out.

    1. I would love to have an all-original early RX-7, with zero mods, perfectly cared for.
Then on the side, I’d love to have a ratty looking one with solid mechanicals and something obscene and inappropriate shoved under the hood for when I’m feeling dirty.

    1. Shame it’s not the 960. I can confirm from first hand experience that the 960 needs no power-adders to get sideways.

    1. With enough power, the Fiero’s biggest problem might be going straight, not getting sideways.

  2. This one has it all! Ready to drift RX-7 convertible for $3K OR he will ruin lower your suspension for $250 on your car.

    Nice, professional write-up too:
Do you want the street cred that comes with a lowered car? Do you want to ride low and stiff so you can drift but don’t want to pay $3000 for coilovers? I have for you the solution! For a mere $250 I will lower and stiffen your car’s suspension! Good quality work, I don’t weld shocks, after new suspension settles in ride will be more comfortable but still low and stiff enough to slide easily. This procedure will not wreck your car. I have done this to my friends car and works out great!
Also selling our poster child car the rx7 the pictures are of, $3000 is the asking price.
