Remember that oh-so excellent BMW 2002 I drove a few weeks back? It’s the product of the Clarion Builds program, and it’s heading to auction. This 1974 BMW 2002 is the first car in this program, and it’s serving as one hell of an attention getter for Clarion. The car was restored wonderfully and it’s a true joy to drive the old girl. Now someone else is going to get that same experience, and will be able to keep the car in his or her own garage. Clarion is bringing the 2002 to the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida. All proceeds from the sale of the car will be donated to the TGEN Foundation which supports cancer research. Now, a properly sorted BMW 2002 isn’t exactly the most expensive machine you’ll see crossing a Barrett-Jackson auction block. Still, charity cars can fetch more than the average car. What do you think this particular machine will earn? Personally, I’m hoping to see at least $30,000 raised.
