A Brief History of… Rivian

By Jeff Glucker Apr 3, 2020

Over on Ride, we’re trying out some new show concepts. Here’s one I think you’ll enjoy. It’s called “A Brief History of…” and in it, we pick a subject in the mobility, electric vehicle, and tech space. For our first episode, we’ve decided to focus on Rivian. The electric truck maker that’s poised to do big things in the industry.

Founder RJ Scaringe is still a young face in the industry. And he’s making big moves. His original vision for a car company has been altered but altered in the right direction. Initially called Avera Motors, RJ and his team switched to Rivian and haven’t looked back. Today the company has 2.5 billion dollars of investment backing. Ford and Lincoln want to use the tech and Amazon has a large order of electric delivery vans on the horizon.
