IMG_20140409_123809 The last few weeks around our house have been busy, and I have put more than a few miles on my truck going to interviews (the end is in sight!). As is my wont, I like to take the long way home after a busy day running around, when I can relax and enjoy the sights. Recently, I came across this blue beauty you see here, a 1983 BMW 320i coupe. You know what comes next: IMG_20140409_124032 I’ve been lucky to see a few good cars here before, as you know from recent Roadside Attractions. It’s just a gravel spot off the road, not really used for anything, but people seem to have a lot of luck selling cars here. With my arm out the window and Haggard on the radio, I pulled off and grabbed a few pictures for you to enjoy. Here is a little information I got from the sheet in the rear quarter window, detailing some of the work the owner has done to the car recently. Everything listed is either new or restored.

1983 BMW 320i Coupe Mechanical: Water pump, radiator, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, alternator, new belts, oil, KYB sport shocks; Bavarian auto-Red springs, brakes, lubed clutch and transmission, new a/c, battery, windshield wiper motor, wipers, fuel filter, fuel lines, thermostat Interior: carpets cleaned, new radio, Harmon Infinity speakers, heater core, new knobs and levers, dash lights, tools in tool kit Exterior: new paint, taillights, windshield, chrome stripping, yellow lenses, sunroof lubed, trunk gasket

IMG_20140409_123939 You can see this owner took pretty good care of his 320i. The exterior is easily a 9/10; it looks like a new car, including the horrendous black plastic bumper spacers. Inside, I’d give it a 8/10 – it’s starting to show some wear, but nothing is torn, and the plastic isn’t faded or cracked. I like this car a lot; I really do. The color on this look fantastic, and is really well done. Inside, it’s in good shape for its age, and there’s nothing better than seeing that shifter in the console, ready to be rowed. I’d love to hang my arm out of this car for a while, and carve up some miles in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest not far from here. In fact, my only real issue with the car is that it has Pirelli Cinturato tires on the front wheels, and Continental tires on the back. IMG_20140409_123835 In all the time I spent there taking pictures and admiring this car, I never saw a price on it – not on the specs sheet in the window, not on the For Sale sign. I’ll put it to you, the Hoonitariat: what would you pay for a well-maintained 320i like this? Let us know in the comments. [Photos Copyright 2014 Hooniverse/Marcal Eilenstein]
